Longleat
Longleat was the first stately home to open its doors to the public, the Marquess of Bath's Elizabethan house and 900 acre park provides a host of attractions, including the house itself, safari park, a baffling maze, miniature steam railway, butterfly garden, new subterranean adventures in Old Joe's Mine, boating and pet's corner.
Salisbury
Medieval Salisbury attracts visitors from all over the world, to see its magnificent cathedral. The town has good shopping, several museums, the remains of Old Sarum, a racecourse, and magnificent Wilton House nearby.
Stourhead
Stourhead owned by the National Trust is an 18th century mansion with gardens that have been described as "a masterpiece of English landscape, casual yet contrived natural yet architectural". With its temple, grotto and statues of English Kings it is well worth a visit.
Lacock
